01，什么叫Argumentative Writing

An argumentative essay is a type of essay that presents arguments about both sides of an issue. It could be that both sides are presented equally balanced, or it could be that one side is presented more forcefully than the other. It all depends on the writer, and what side he supports the most. In this type of writing, the writer needs to explain and support his/her position with research from reliable and credible sources.

論證性論文是一種提出有關問題，雙方進行討論的文章。他可以是雙方表現得均等平衡，也可能是一方表現得比另一方更有力。這完全取決于作者，以及他最支持哪一邊。在這種類型的寫作中，作者需要使用可靠和可靠的信息來解釋和支持他/她的立場。

The difference between “persuasive essays” and “argument/discussion essays” is that persuasive writing requires the writer to be kinder and gentler.“Argument/discussion essays” require you to discuss and to attack an alternate view, while “persuasive essays” are attempts to convince the reader that you have a believable argument. In other words, you are an advocate, not an adversary.

“說服性論文”和“論據性論文”之間的區(qū)別在于，說服性寫作要求作家更加友善和溫柔。 “論據”要求您討論和提出另一種觀點，而“說服性論文”則試圖說服讀者您擁有可信的論點。換句話說，您是倡導者，而不是對手。

02，Argumentative Writing的重要性

Debate is a process that involves formal discussion on a particular topic. In a debate, opposing arguments are put forward to argue for opposing viewpoints. Debate occurs in public meetings, academic institutions, and legislative assemblies.

辯論是涉及對特定主題進行正式討論的過程。在辯論中，提出了相反的論據以主張相反的觀點。辯論發(fā)生在公開會議，學術機構和立法議會中。

In speaking we “debate” someone to oppose their point of view. In writing we use an argumentative/discussion essay.

In today’s setting, people obtain solutions after making an informed decision. From an educational point of view, the purpose of making students write such essays is so that schools can evaluate a) their knowledge of a topic, and b) their critical thinking skills.

03，Argumentative Writing的組成部分

An argumentative/discussion essay has the following structure:

論證/議論文具有以下結構：

Title: Tells exactly what the discussion will be about.

標題：準確說明討論的內容

Introduction: Introduces the people/groups who have different views and opinions

介紹：介紹有不同意見的人 /團體

Body: Has a series or arguments/reasons for andagainst the topic in structured and organized paragraphs. Uses words such as:“and, as well as, additionally, also, furthermore” to add points validating the writer’s argument. It also uses contrast words such as: “but, although, on the other hand, however, on the contrary, alternatively” when doing a counterargument.
